Visit projectProblem
EV charging management spans physical chargers and the software operators use to manage chargers and sites. The platform needed to connect those parts of the system.
My role
I co-founded ipark.fi and architected its charging station management system end to end, from protocol handling to customer portals.
Decision
The platform combines OCPP 1.6 protocol handling with a Go backend and Next.js portals for charger and site management. I instrumented the backend with OpenTelemetry and Grafana so its operation could be observed.
Result
I built a charging station management system that interoperates with real EV charger hardware, alongside the operator-facing portals.
Accelerator programmes
Alongside building the platform, I participated in Urban Tech Helsinki and the Baltic Impact Accelerator as an ipark.fi co-founder. These programmes gave our team opportunities to collaborate and helped me develop my approach to brand communication and product-market fit.
